2023 Sonde Calibration Event
April 26, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Since 2015, LimnoTech has supported the operation of real-time sondes to collectively track rapid changes in water quality throughout the region. The Lake Erie sonde network has been used by researchers at UT, BGSU, NOAA, USGS and by other researchers to observe the short and long-term trends in turbidity, DO, and algal biomass.
Each year in the spring, LimnoTech has supported a calibration event for sondes in the Lake Erie area. The event has grown rapidly and this year LimnoTech is partnering with the Cleveland Water Alliance to host two events, which will enable us to accommodate more participants. Tentatively, the event will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and will include hands-on training from professional staff.
• April 5th: University of Toledo Lake Erie Center, 6200 Bayshore Rd. Oregon, OH
• April 26th: Cleveland State University MakerSpace, 2121 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115
If you are interested in attending the event, please fill out the below registration form by 3/31. We are still working on the details of the event; there may be a small cost for participation (to cover the cost of lunch). Also, additional costs may be needed to repair sensors (e.g. replace wiper, replace pH cap, etc.).
