2025 Hydric Soils Training Class

$360Registration is now open for Stream + Wetlands Foundation’s 2025 Hydric Soils Training Class! Join us on September 9 & 10, 2025, 8 am – 5 pm each day, at The Dawes Arboretum for this hands-on, field-based training. We’re excited to welcome back Frank Gibbs, PWS, CPSS, CPSC, as our esteemed instructor.
Target Attendees: Consultants, agency staff, and environmental scientists with minimum 1 year experience conducting wetland delineations. Initial limit of 2 people per firm/organization.
Supplies: Students must provide Munsell book and soil probe/spade. Muck boots recommended. Class will be held rain or shine. Lunch provided. Lodging available nearby at attendees’ expense.
Instructor: Frank Gibbs of Wetland and Soil Consulting Services, LLC is the lead instructor for this course. Gibbs is a senior wetlands scientist with more than 35-years of wetland experience performing nearly 2,000 wetland delineations in Ohio. Gibbs was a member of the National Cadre of Hydric Soil Instructors and has traveled the country teaching various agency personnel on the identification of hydric soils. Frank retired from Natural Resources Conservation Service in late 2012.
