Post Doctoral Scholar, The Ohio State University

The Post Doctoral Scholar will be responsible for (1) evaluating the linkages in the conceptual models using monitoring data (2) forecasting the response of the FCMs to scenarios identified from stakeholders (e.g., changes in nutrient loading, climate, or harvest), and (3) working with Dr. Jim Hood to identify potential indicator variables.

Additional Information:
Drs. Jim Hood and Stu Ludsin at The Ohio State University (OSU) are recruiting a Post Doctoral Scholar to work on a Great Lakes Fishery Commission project focused on developing quantitative and qualitative models of Lake Erie’s ecosystem to advance ecosystem-based fisheries management of Lake Whitefish, Walleye, and Yellow Perch. Specifically, this project focuses on developing and evaluating conceptual models describing how direct and indirect factors influence the recruitment of the focal species. We will engage stakeholders in a workshop to develop conceptual models as a fuzzy cognitive map (FCMs) and utilize an information-rich timeseries dataset to quantitatively evaluate those conceptual models.
