The Biology Department at Wheaton College is seeking applicants for a Professor of
Practice position, optimally starting in Fall 2023, though the start date is flexible. The
successful candidate is expected to teach three lectures or labs per semester, possibly
including Introductory Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, and Environmental Science
as well as higher level courses in their area of expertise. Applicants with areas of
expertise in marine ecology, broadly defined, are strongly encouraged to apply. The
Biology Department is expanding our teaching faculty to focus efforts on diversity,
equity and belonging, and to modernize the pedagogical approaches in our
foundational course offerings.
